Meet Our Staff

Mary Deason, PT, CSCS, Certified Personal Trainer
Mary graduated from CSULB in 1988. She has been working as a physical therapist for 32 years, and she has been in private practice for 26 years. Mary specializes in aquatic therapy and outpatient orthopedics. She enjoys working with young athletes as well as the geriatric population. She has been a member of the APTA since 1988. In 2007, she became certified as a strength conditioning specialist and personal trainer. Her personal interests are traveling, living an active healthy lifestyle, and spending time with family and friends.

Laura Kohout, PT/MA
Laura has been a physical therapist since 1982. Laura graduated from NYU with a BA in psychology, BS in physical therapy, and a MA in kinesiology. She has had a wide variety of experience from pediatric to geriatric and everyone in between in many different settings. In 1988 she joined Save A Back, Inc, teaching a back injury prevention class in industry throughout the US which she continues. She enjoys skiing, traveling, and languages.

Barbara Goertzen, PTA
Barbara is a graduate of the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Mesa College with over 18 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics and aquatic therapy. She is a member of the APTA since 2001. Barbara is a certified personal trainer with over 30 years experience in the fitness industry. She is a past adjunct faculty at Cuyamaca College in the exercise science department and has a passion for helping people reach their health and fitness goals. She enjoys skiing, hiking, road biking, and running.

Amber Siebrand Office Manager
Amber graduated from SDSU with a BA in English in 2011. She has been working for East County Water & Sports Physical Therapy since 2008. In her free time, Amber enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her friends, family, and three dogs.
